Aegoddard over at Upholding Ma’at awarded me the Liebster Award. Many thanks! I’ve never heard of this blog award before, much less received a blog award of any kind. Notwithstanding, it put a smile on my face to receive one.
The terms of the award are as follows:

2. There is a list of questions to answer from your nominator as well as having to come up with a list of questions for your own nominees. you can either use the same questions as was asked of you or make up new ones for your nominees.

Now, I shall answer the questions Aegoddard asked of me. For my nominees — Devo, Henadology, and Setken — you may answer the ones asked of me, or I can just throw some random words at you and see what happens.
What inspired you to start a blog?
Many of my Kemetic and Norse Polytheist friends had blogs of their own, and I felt like I also had a lot to say, so I hopped on the bandwagon. Not exactly and inspiring story, I know, but it’s been a fun and rewarding experience so far.
Have you been achieving any of the goals set out with your blog?
Most of them. I have a lot of topics I have promised to write about and haven’t yet, and a number of pages I want to add to my blog (i.e., adding an “About the Gods” section). Sometimes I can’t find the time when inspiration strikes, and at other times, I have more than enough time but no impetus.
Which moment in your life do you currently find the most awe inspiring?
When I’m with my husband. I’ve become increasingly aware of how happy my life is now, especially now that he’s in it in that capacity, and how much better I’m starting to feel. The Gods feel rather quiet, but I think my religious life and interactions are as healthy as they’ve ever been. To reduce it all to one word, “happiness.” I am in awe of the experience of happiness. It’s not something I’m very used to, and it could all vanish in an instant, so I’m making the most of what I’ve got while I have it.
What is a fear you’d like to overcome / have overcome? If you’ve overcome it, how did you do it?
I overcame my fear of spiders. It was a matter of learning more about them, and coming to realize they’re mostly harmless to humans, despite popular alarmist belief, and are stellar pest-assassins. I’d much rather have jumping spiders in my basement than termites in the walls!
How do you handle unfortunate situations?

3.) KICK ALL OF THE OBSTACLES IN THE TEETH

What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Halloween, because I’m a shameless Goth and bats are awesome. What bat-lover doesn’t love Halloween? Pumpkins are pretty rad, too. I love pumpkins. I also love the smell and colors of autumn. There’s something inherently special, dare I say “mystical,” about that time of year.
What is a tradition you hope to pass on, be it to your children or to other generations in your community?
I don’t want kids, ever. Ye Gods no! Hel make my womb as barren as bleached bone!
In terms of leaving a legacy or lasting impression upon others of any kind, I hope to instill an appreciation for History, and encourage a sense of discernment. There is a dire lack of those things in the world at present. People need to learn how to delve deeper into the mysteries of existence, instead of staring blankly into the void of their iPhones, or Fifty Shades of Grey or whatever people are on about these days.
What is your view of the Divine, be it from a believer or non-believer’s standpoint?
That is an incredibly complicated answer to a very vague question. Hmm.
In the simplest of terms, I don’t believe in a “we’re all one” concept, or a Supreme Deity of which all Gods are a reflection. I register more toward the “Hard Polytheist” end of the spectrum. That is, I believe the Gods are individuals with distinct identities. The extent of my “Soft Polytheist” tendencies/beliefs is that the Gods can join essences, become separate deities/share identities, much in the same fashion that Heru-Wer and Set become the God Bawy.
You have just attained your dream life. Describe it in 140 words maximum.
Living out in the country in Canada with my loving husband, in a house we built to suit our every need, with at least one cat, several chickens, and two goats. And an extensive vegetable garden, with shrines to Herishef and Freyr embedded in it. And a few shrines indoors, naturally. We live a quiet, long, loving life, and want for nothing, but do not live in materialistic excess. And every now and again, we go globe-trotting. It’s just a matter of finding someone to “critter-sit” the animals while we’re gone.
