My Heru-Wer icon in its shrine.
According to the Kemetic Orthodox calendar, today is the second of the “Five Days Outside Time” preceding Wep Ronpet (this year, it occurs on the 3rd of August, 2015 on the Gregorian calendar), and the day we celebrate Heru-Wer’s birth. It is called “The Day of One with the Powerful Heart.”
A short prayer to be said on this day, with the lighting of a candle (green or white):
“O Heru-Wer, Great of Strength, Lord of Terror, Great of Awe: may You save me from all bad and unholy things, and from any slaughter of the year!”
